Chef Patrick Memorial Picnic Ride: Saturday, July 11
New and Existing Members: Join us on Saturday, July 11 as we honor the memory of long-time CBBC member and Picnic Chef Extraordinaire Patrick Roche. Formerly known as the No Name Century Ride, this great member event features multiple rides in multiple categories -- all leaving from Holicong Park and returning for a picnic courtesy of Chef Farb and his crew.
Ad Hoc Rides
CBBC promotes the fun and safety of riding in groups! The ride calendar is established to be able to offer a variety of rides at all levels and allow members to plan their rides in advances. As we know our lives are not always predictable! Members are encouraged to post “Ad hoc” rides on the Forum and allow other members to join them.
Here is the “official” definition of a CBBC Ad Hoc Ride:
-The ride may be posted on the CBBC Forum no earlier than 48 hours of the ride date and time. Try to give members at least 24 hours notice.
-The ride is not considered a CBBC sponsored club ride.
-No approval needed by the Ride Coordinators.
-A cue sheet or sign in sheet is not needed.
-Ad hoc rides are not covered by the Club insurance policy.
-Ride start location and time is up to the ad hoc ride leader. Try not to compete with a regular club ride – those ride leaders are a precious few!
-The ride will not be credited toward the ride leader program.
-Please ride safely and courteously (especially if you’re wearing your club jersey!)
Check Out CBBC's Forum!
The new CBBC Forum is an online discussion site where members can hold conversations. It's similar in function to our former CBBCtalk listserv (which retired in February), but it allows access through our site. You can also subscribe to one, a few, or all topics to receive email notifications of new posts.
You need to be a CBBC member and log in in order for the items under the "Member Access" menu to be available, and to post to the Forum. If you've never logged in to the site but are a current member, use the Request a Login link there.
NOTE: If you are part of a "family" membership, you'll both need to utilize the primary member login name/PW for now. We plan to add capability for a second login as soon as it's available. We'll continue to share more tips in the Forum, in InGear, and in articles on the site like this one.
Time to Renew?
Great news--you can now join the club or renew your membership right here on our secure site. No fees. No third parties involved. No emailed ads or spam. The renewal system is now CBBC’s and your info is secure.
Your membership fee of only $2 a month (just $1.75 if you renew for 3 years) supports tons of benefits of being a CBBC member, including a robust website where you can post and view our Forum and ride offerings, our InGear newsletter, supplemental insurance for club members, an appreciation program for the ride leaders who make our rides happen, facility rental and food for summer all-level rides, safety class reimbursement and much more.
Haven't seen your InGear lately? If so and you haven't renewed, February was the last month of your membership. Be sure to renew to join club rides and to maintain access to post rides and post messages to the Forum. Log in to the site before proceeding with your renewal. If you’ve never logged in before, go to Member Login under Member Access menu and Request a login.
Renewal options are under the Join/Renew tab. Save a stamp and lots of time--renew online today!
